Palacio, Palacio & Zimmerman LLC — TAX & ADVISORS

About the firm

A Miami firm, run by its partners.

Palacio, Palacio & Zimmerman LLC and PPZ Assurance & Advisory LLC — together, PPZ — are what came of two Miami practices becoming one. J.J. Palacio, P.A. opened under its own name in 1992, carrying forward work that had begun in 1990 as Palacio & Raimundez. In 2018 it combined with Zimmerman, Marconi & Alzate, P.A., and partners from both firms still work here.

Our staff are CPAs, enrolled agents and other tax and accounting professionals. We work in English and in Spanish.

What we are actually for is helping you understand what is in the numbers — which is a different job from producing them.

How we work

  • You talk to the person doing the work

No handoff to staff you have never met once the engagement is signed. The people who meet you are the people who do it.

  • We would rather talk in October than in April

The planning work is worth more than the filing work, and it has to happen before the year closes. By April the options are mostly gone.

  • Decades of judgment, current instruments

The judgment here was earned over thirty-odd years. The tools are this year's: we automate the work that does not need a person, so the hours go where they change an outcome instead of where they only produce a document. That is the part that is hard to see from inside your own business — the stuff you miss when you are in the forest, among the trees.

  • Plain language

You will get the number and what it means in a sentence. If you want the citation behind it, we have it.

  • In English and in Spanish

We work in both, and the quality of the advice does not change between them. Trabajamos en los dos idiomas.

What we do

How your documents are handled

Your records live in a secure portal you can reach any time — returns, financial statements, and the source documents behind them.

The firm keeps a written information security program covering how client data is stored, who can reach it, and what happens if something goes wrong. We review it every December. We will send it to you if you want to read it.

We will also tell you what not to do: do not email us a Social Security number, a bank login or a tax document. Call us and we will give you a secure way to send it.

Come talk to us.

Call and a person picks up. Send a note and a person reads it. Either way it reaches somebody at the firm, not a queue.
